About Me

Lawyer Juan Campos-Gutierrez was born in Coro, Venezuela, and obtained his first law degree in 2006. While studying law, he began working in the Venezuelan judicial system, starting as an Administrative Assistant in the Criminal Court of Lara State and also serving as Secretary in the Superior Civil and Administrative Litigation Court of the same state.

In Venezuela, he was also secretary of the Criminal Court of Appeals of the State of Falcón, located in his hometown of Coro, where he assisted judges in drafting judicial opinions; and later became Assistant Prosecutor in that same state.

Mr. Campos worked as a law professor at the University of Falcón, where he taught criminal law, and was a criminal investigation instructor at the Guárico State Police Officer Training Center. In 2010, Mr. Campos began a criminal defense practice, representing defendants in the states of Guárico, Falcón, Aragua, and the Capital District. Mr. Campos also appeared before the Supreme Court of Justice of Venezuela.

In the United States, Mr. Campos earned a Master of Laws degree in Comparative Law from the University of Florida. During his graduate studies, he developed an interest in Immigration and Nationality Law and decided to pursue a career in the immigration field. Mr. Campos is admitted to the bar by the Louisiana State Supreme Court.

Mr. Campos's practice covers most areas of immigration law and focuses on developing strong relationships with his clients and assisting immigrants, minorities, and disadvantaged individuals. Protecting the rights of immigrants in immigration cases is his mission. As an immigrant himself, he understands his clients' needs and concerns and strives to explain the complex dynamics of immigration law in a clear and accessible way.
